Hi, I'm a language nerd based in Brooklyn. I’m currently looking for new opportunities, you can find my resume here.
I’ve made an impact as a software engineer at Shutterstock and eBrevia, helping each run smoothly and multilingually, and working on projects to improve user experience across languages.
Previously, I’ve done research on machine translation and language processing for low-resource languages advised by Jaime Carbonell and Graham Neubig in the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
I got my Bachelors in Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin working with Katrin Erk on lexical substitution and lexical translation using distributional semantic models. While in Austin, I also worked as a data scientist at People Pattern, building odds and ends for demographics classification and sentiment analysis.
On the weekends you can catch me reading comics in coffee shops, making elaborate conlangs, and sometimes taking photos.
